About Us
We are a team of chartered civil and structural engineers able to assist with a variety of stages throughout construction projects within many sectors. Based in Derbyshire, most of our projects are in the Midlands area, however we operate throughout the U.K.
We pride ourselves on providing a professional and friendly service with the clients’ requirements and aspirations at the forefront of our minds. As a relatively small business, we are able to offer our customers a personable service and a one point of contact; something difficult to match for larger, more generalist consultants.
How it all started
Tom Keating and Associates Limited was established in December 2002, working from Tom’s home in Derby. The company grew quickly, and Tom moved the Practice into its own premises in 2004, employing family members and bringing in new engineers.
Throughout the years Wendy, Tom’s wife, has supported him running the company accounts; alongside this they have two sons, one of which, David joined the business in 2018.
Experience meets innovation
Since joining in 2018 David has grown and developed the company, supported by Tom, building on his experience and reputation within the industry. Long lasting professional relationships have been nurtured and new relationships have been formed, allowing for Mark and Matthew the opportunity to join Tom Keating and Associates, forming the strong in-house team we have today.
Wanting to put his own stamp on the company David rebranded Tom Keating Associates to TKA; designing the logo using geometrical shapes to represent the mathematical engineering we use every day in our roles as structural engineers.
Family run business
Throughout our growth and development TKA will always keep Tom at the heart of the business and keep close the grounds on which this all began, family. Offering a friendly experience to our clients and supporting our family, each member of the TKA team is valued, and recognised for the support they provide in developing our business.
We are grateful to work together with a brilliant range of Geotechnical Engineers, Technicians, Surveyors and Ground Investigation Consultants; having great professional relationships which we only intend to develop and push further, thus allowing us the opportunity to work on larger projects and expand our portfolio.
